On behalf of the health portal www.apotheken-umschau.de, the Society for Consumer Research (GfK) surveyed more than 1,000 employees on their career aspirations. It showed that men put much more emphasis on their career than women.
Occupational success, according to the results of the representative survey, appears to be much more important to men than to women. However, more than half of the men surveyed but only a good third of women said that their careers „very important“ is. Often, however, it is not the own ego but the financial necessity driving this career obsession.
On behalf of apotheken-umschau.de, GfK Marktforschung asked 1,040 professionals over the age of 14 about their career plans - 586 men and 454 women. Here, 50.5 percent of the men surveyed said they careers „very important“ whereas only 35.5 percent of women attach equal importance to professional success. However, 39.9 percent of men declared that they were working only on financial necessity and would rather forego the daily routine to work. As a result, private life is generally more important to them, but financial needs lead to a greater emphasis on careers. The same applies to 38.4 percent of working women. (Fp)
