Men suffer from infections more than women

Men are often ridiculed by women because of their suffering during illness. British researchers from Queen Mary University in London recently discovered in a recent study why men are more self-pitying than women. The main reason for the different ability to suffer is a differently trained immune system.
Biologically based piety
British scientists found that the male immune system, in contrast to the female, responded more slowly and less efficiently to infectious diseases. This is the reason why men have always had more serious illnesses than women, according to the results of the study. Accordingly, men would also feel sicker than women.
In the study reactions of the immune system were examined among other things on bacteria in the intestine and in the lung. The researchers were able to show that in the female organism many more white blood cells, which play a crucial role in the immune system were found. The results were obtained in the study of mice, but according to researchers are readily transferable to humans.
Men take pills more often
According to the health report of the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), men and women also differ in the frequency of visits to the doctor. While women go to the family doctor more often, men prefer symptom-alleviating remedies from the medicine cabinet. All in all, drug use has risen sharply, especially among men. The TK further reports that on average, men used medicines for 184 days in 2010. About half of the cases related to the use of cardiovascular drugs, such as beta-blockers.
According to the health report, the main causes of male cranial disorders are back pain, respiratory diseases and cardiovascular complaints such as hypertension and heart attack. As the cause of the diseases, the TC stated smoking, too much stress, lack of exercise and an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. (Ag)
