French authorities already informed at the beginning of December

The French Ministry of Economic Affairs published a list of potentially contaminated products on Sunday. According to media reports, a total of 620 products should be listed.

Lactalis sells its goods in many countries around the world, including Germany, China, the United Kingdom and Pakistan. In this country are mainly from the company Président, Galbani or Salakis cheese in the supermarkets to find.

According to the dairy group, Lactalis was informed in early December by the French authorities that baby milk powder was contaminated with salmonella. At that time, the disease was reported by 20 babies under the age of six months.

The company then recalled a dozen baby milk products. According to the AFP, the Ministry of Economy in Paris did not consider this sufficient to rule out the risk of illness.

Milk powder should no longer be used

Following five recent cases, the French authorities decided to ban the sale and marketing of several products manufactured since 15 February.

Parents were asked not to use Lactalis milk powder anymore. According to the information, they are mainly products of the brands Milumel, Picot and Carrefour.

Bacteria cause gastrointestinal infections

Salmonella are bacteria that can cause severe stomach / bowel disease (salmonellosis).

The disease occurs several hours to days after infection and manifests itself mainly by sudden onset of diarrhea, abdominal pain, malaise, feeling cold and headache.

In some cases, vomiting and mild fever are added.

The symptoms usually disappear after a few hours or days.

For infants, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, fluid loss due to diarrhea and vomiting can be dangerous. (Ad)
