More than half of Germans also work on vacation, according to a recent survey by the market research institute GfK. Men, in particular, have considerable difficulty leaving the work routine on vacation behind.

Every second working person works during the holiday season
Overall, around one in two Germans also works while on vacation, although women tend to be able to switch off even more than men, reports the news agency „DPA“. For example, 54 percent of women spend time on their vacation while on vacation, while the proportion among men is a respectable 61 percent, according to experts from the market research institute GfK. 55 percent of respondents said they were contacted on vacation by employers or clients for work related matters. About a quarter (24 percent) of employees stated that the employer required availability even while on leave. Real displeasure does not seem to trigger occupational matters during the holiday period. According to the results of the GfK study, only 31 percent of respondents said that they felt disturbed by this.
Relaxation and recreation should be the top priority on vacation
When asked to work during the holiday period, 46 percent of respondents said their own sense of responsibility, 33 percent said that otherwise too much was left undone and 29 percent said they finally find time for work on holiday, to which they Otherwise would not come. In other words, those affected take vacations to work through the unfinished business.
