As part of the PURE study ("Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology"), researchers surveyed nearly 170,000 people in 17 countries about their daily physical activity for seven years. The interviews were carried out with the help of the "International Physical Activity Questionnaire". The participants were also asked about activities in the context of everyday life.

The analysis showed that people with moderate physical activity had a 20% lower risk of dying than those who did not. As moderate physical activity, 150 to 750 minutes of exercise were scored.
