VDK provides up-to-date list

05/07/2012

The Sozialverband Deutschland VdK has published a list of drugs that are exempt from co-payments. People with low incomes or chronic illnesses, in particular, depend on using low-cost generics instead of expensive ones. The Drug Supply Economics Act (AVWG) obtained that instead of overpriced drugs, drug-identical alternatives can be prescribed. These are also called generics in professional circles.

For certain generics no additional payments have to be made. This applies to all insured persons of the statutory health insurance, regardless of the insured person's income. The list is updated continuously by the social association. The mode is two weeks.

In the list the medicines are listed alphabetically after the first letter. To selectively search the PDF document after opening, press the key combination "Ctrl and F". Then a window opens in which the drug can be searched. Copayment-free medicines are classified according to section 31 (3) sentence 4 SGB V, sorted by title. (Sb)
