Massive sunburn woman pulled on while running huge blisters
Health experts keep pointing out how important it is to protect yourself well when staying in the sun. You should not save creaming. A woman from England had indeed applied sunscreen, but not renewed this protection during a several-hour run. The result: She got huge blisters on her lower legs.
Heavy skin burns after Ultra Marathon
Only a few days ago a man from Scotland was reported to have suffered severe burns from sunbeams because he had not creamed himself. A woman from England had applied sunscreen before an ultra-marathon, but did not renew this protection during the long race. After completing the run she had a bad sunburn and blisters on her legs.
Wash away sunscreen with sweat
The 34-year-old Englishwoman Julie Nisbet took part in the ultra marathon "The Wall" a few days ago. It took about 21 hours for the run for about 111 kilometers along Hadrian's Wall. During the race temperatures were up to 30 degrees.
The runner had smeared herself according to her own information before the event with sunscreen, but the protection did not last long.
"At the start of the race, I put on a lot of sunscreen, but during the run, I did not cream again - sweat and water have washed most of my legs down," said Nisbet, according to a report in the British newspaper "Daily Mail".
Small orange pustules developed into big blisters
After the end of the run, the consequences were seen: on her lower legs, an extreme sunburn had formed, together with small orange pustules, which eventually developed into huge blisters.
On Twitter, the woman wrote: "All the joy I felt after the Ultra race is overshadowed by the pain of the burns. I am crying like a baby. "
Her family and friends were shocked and did not want to believe "that such blisters come from a sunburn".
On Twitter, she pointed out that she was temporarily a bit confused after being alerted to possible burns from Giant Bear Clutch, which look similar to hers.
In Germany, too, is repeatedly warned of the health hazards of this poisonous plant.
In the end, however, she realized that the bubbles were caused by the sunlight.
Complaints even after a week
Meanwhile, more than a week has passed, but the Englishwoman still has to bandage her legs.
She does not take it too hard, but is already looking forward to the following races. "This is not the end of the world. These are just scars. I am sure that I will run again on another day, "says Nisbet.
And: "If the next orange pus bubbles have dried up, I've probably lost another two kilograms." (Ad)
