Because of back problems: 33-year-old man splashed his own sperm for months

There are several home remedies for back pain, such as heat treatments or ointments, which can be proven to relieve the symptoms. However, there is no proof that you can treat back problems with sperm. But that's exactly what a 33-year-old man from Ireland tried to do. He hugged his own seed for months and finally ended up in the hospital.

Treat back pain properly

Millions of people have recurrent back pain. Those affected are usually advised not to be overly concerned, but to strengthen their backs through physical activity and special exercises. Even home remedies, such as hot baths, can help alleviate low back pain. What a 33-year-old man from Ireland has come up with to fight his back pain is NOT (!) Recommended: he injected his own sperm.

Intense reddening of the skin and an abscess

As reported in the journal "Irish Medical Journal," a 33-year-old Irishman visited Adelaide and Meath Hospital in Dublin because of severe, sudden back pain.

The patient told the doctors that the discomfort had increased after lifting a heavy object.

According to the information, the 33-year-old already had chronic back pain in the past.

In the further examination, the physicians noted an intense reddening of the skin as well as an abscess under the skin on the patient's right forearm. Then they asked more closely.

Man injected sperm over 18 months

According to the report, the man stated that he had injected his own semen intravenously as an innovative method of treating back pain. He developed this "remedy" regardless of any medical advice.

The further survey showed that the man had already injected his sperm for one and a half years.

However, the last time he administered three "doses", both intravenously and intramuscularly.

Due to the frequent injections, the tissue was hardened around the puncture sites. In addition, a papule and inflammation of the subcutaneous tissue (cellulitis) had developed.

The patient was treated with antimicrobial agents. The man's back pain improved over the course of his inpatient stay and he decided to discharge himself without completing the treatment.

Scientific investigations on seed injections

The doctors wanted to know if there are scientific studies on the treatment of back pain with semen and started a related research.

Although they found an old paper by scientists from the University of Glasgow reporting the effects of subcutaneous seed injection in rats and rabbits, no cases of intravenous seed injection have been found in humans.

The authors point out that the current case shows the dangers that can arise when non-specialists make experiments with injections of substances that are not intended for intravenous use.

He also demonstrates the risks associated with medical experimentation before extensive clinical research was conducted. (Ad)
