Is a change worthwhile? These health insurance companies charge increased additional contributions

As of 1 January 2016, many statutory health insurance funds have increased their contributions. Since the cash rate is set by the policy, the contribution increases are controlled by the additional contributions. Thus, the increases are only passed on to the employees and not on an equal basis to the employees. The additional contribution is paid only by the insured.
In a list, we show which health insurance funds levies such an additional contribution and which health fund has increased it. Here are the largest replacement funds and miners, listed some general local health insurance and some guilders. With a change, those affected can save several hundred euros a year.

Substitute funds and miners
Barmer GEK: The Barmer GEK increases the additional contribution by 0.2 percent to 1.1 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.7 percent.

DAK Health: DAK Gesundheit increases the additional contribution by 0.6 percent to 1.5 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.7 percent.

HEK-Hanseatische Krankenkasse: The HEK-Hanseatische Krankenkasse increases the additional contribution by 0.2 percent to 1.0 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.6 percent.

hkk: The hkk increases the additional contribution by 0.19 percent to 0.59 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.19 percent.

KKH commercial health insurance: The KKH commercial health insurance increases the additional contribution by 0.3 percent to 1.2 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.8 percent.

Techniker health insurance: The Techniker health insurance increases the additional contribution by 0.2 percent to 1, 0 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.6 percent.

Miners: The miners increase the additional contribution by 0.5 percent to 1, 3 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.9 percent.

General local health insurance
AOK Bremen Bremerhaven: The AOK Bremen Bremerhaven increases the additional contribution by 0.2 percent to 1.1 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.7 percent.

AOK Lower Saxony: The AOK Lower Saxony leaves the additional contribution unchanged at 0.8 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 remains at 15.4 percent.

AOK NordWest: The AOK Northwest increases the additional contribution by 0.2 percent to 1.1 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 15.7 percent.

AOK Plus: The AOK Plus leaves the additional contribution unchanged at 0.3 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 remains at 14.9 percent.

Some guild health insurance funds
IKK Nord: IKK Nord leaves the additional contribution unchanged at 1.3 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 remains at 15.9 percent.

IKK classic: The IKK classic increases the additional contribution by 0.6 percent to 1.4 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 is now 16.0 percent.

IKK healthy plus: The IKK healthy plus leaves the additional contribution unchanged at 0.6 percent. The contribution rate for 2016 remains at 15.2 percent. (Sb)
