Listeria in Baltic Sea Fish Recall of Graved Salmon
The food producer Ostsee Fisch GmbH & Co. has started a recall campaign for "Graved Salmon". The product had been criticized on the basis of the evidence of Listeria. These bacteria can cause, among other things, flu-like symptoms and diarrhea.

On the portal "Lebensmittelwarnung.de" of the federal states and the Federal Office for consumer protection is warned before Listeria in "Baltic Sea fish Graved salmon with honey-mustard-dill-sauce" of the company Ostsee Fisch GmbH & Co. Produktions- und Vertrieb KG. According to the information, there was a "complaint based on the detection of Listeria monocytogenes". These bacteria can affect your health.
The affected product was withdrawn from circulation
Affected is the 150 gram pack with use-by date 8/8/2016, batch number / lot identification 1000154636/1000154730/1000154768 and the EAN code: 4013276753125. It is said that the product concerned with the said use-by date was "for reasons of preventive consumer protection" taken out of circulation.
Evidence of Listeria is piling up
The reports of evidence of Listeria pile up: Just a few weeks ago, SER's salmon smokehouse had recalled two of its products that could endanger its health. Reason for this was a proven burden with Listeria. Listeria (Listeria monocytogenes) can trigger a so-called "listeriosis" in humans.
For weak and pregnant women, the bacteria can be dangerous
The condition can cause flu-like symptoms such as vomiting, muscle aches, diarrhea, and fever. Although the disease is usually harmless in healthy adults, it may be dangerous for pregnant women, newborns, the elderly, and those with weak immune systems, such as blood poisoning, cerebral or meningitis. In pregnant women, the risk of premature birth or miscarriage increases.
Better refrain from certain foods
According to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), among other things, at-risk persons should not eat unprocessed animal foods (such as Mett) in order to protect themselves. Smoked or marinated fish products and raw milk cheese should therefore be better avoided. (Ad)
