Homeopathy Congress: Exploring the Limitations of Homeopathy

25/02/2011

Homeopathy has become an integral part of medicine, not only in primary care. Even in areas where it may not be directly suspected, it has now arrived. In the children's hospital, in the intensive care unit, in the oncology outpatient clinic in the university hospital or in psychiatry. The 161th Annual Meeting of the German Central Association of Homeopathic Doctors (DZVhÄ) from 2 to 4 June in the Eurogress Aachen is under the heading „Homeopathy limitless? Borderline experiences of medical homeopathy in science and practice“. More than 40 presenters will look at the entire medical spectrum of homeopathy - including dentistry and veterinary medicine - in a variety of ways.

„The congress is aimed at the practitioner who takes home knowledge for his daily practice“, says Christian Minck, chairman of the DZVhÄ Landesverband Nordrhein-Westfalen. Physicians or pharmacists who have had little contact with homeopathy so far can also gain their first insights into the therapeutic method. Special events are planned for them. The annual homeopathy congress of the DZVhÄ is the culmination of the medical homeopathy training and meeting point for all those who deal with the topic of homeopathy. Around 600 participants from many European countries attend the German Homeopathy Congress every year.

Barbara Steffens, Minister of Health, Emancipation, Nursing and Age of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia will open the congress, she is convinced of the concept of the event: „However, with increasing importance, the responsibility towards the patients also increases. That is why it is right and important that you ask the question in Aachen, where homeopathy is based on its potential and in which direction it should develop“, writes the minister in her greeting to the congress participants.

As the interest of the population in homeopathy is steadily increasing, open events for the population are also offered at this DZVhÄ-Congress. (Pm)
