No new infections in the US
The health authorities in the US have given the all-clear for the time being in the fight against Ebola. The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said on Saturday, according to a news agency APA / Reuters, that there were no new infections. The nine persons who are under observation after contact with an infected person, therefore show no disease symptoms. In Dallas, an Ebola sufferer since Tuesday is on an isolation ward. It is said that the man "whose condition was critical had entered the US from the Ebola hotspot".

Two Ebola patients in Germany
In Germany, two infected people are currently being treated in hospitals. Of the two, the second Ebola patient in Germany is in serious condition. About the state of the first is not known. Both patients had become infected during their visits to West Africa. It usually takes a good week before people become ill after an Ebola infection. Before the outbreak, the infectious disease is not contagious. Through contact with body fluids the disease is transmissible.

Nearly 7500 infected
A cure or a vaccine against Ebola does not exist so far. Doctors are usually limited to treating typical symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea and internal and external bleeding. Since March, 3,431 people have died in West Africa from the most severe Ebola outbreak, according to the latest figures from the World Health Organization (WHO). Especially Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone are affected. In these three countries, the number of infected persons is given as 7,470. (Ad)
