Department store cleared: 26 customers with respiratory problems

In the Bavarian Neu-Ulm yesterday an electronics market had to be evacuated. Because of a broken TV part, a pungent odor had spread. 26 customers were treated for respiratory complaints.

A person as a precaution to the hospital
Last Saturday, a media market had to be cleared in the Bavarian city of Neu-Ulm at short notice. In the electronics market in the district Offenhausen biting odor had spread. Many customers complained of breathing difficulties. The ambushed rescue workers treated 26 people outpatient on the spot. One person was taken to the nearest hospital for chest pain as a precaution.

Defective TV component as cause
According to the police, the cause of the incident was a defective component in a television set. In addition, it says in the police press release: „The fire brigade was unable to make any findings during the subsequent measurement of possible pollutants. After thorough ventilation of the purchase market, the sale was resumed.
