The potatoes used for this purpose were produced without the use of chemical pesticides. All other ingredients, such as frying oil, must also come from organic farming. This oil is uncured and was not recovered using chemical solvents. Often, manufacturers resort to valuable sunflower oil with high levels of unsaturated fatty acids. Finally, organic producers refrain from using a whole range of additives that are common in conventional production.
For example sulfides. They ensure that conventional dry products such as potato dumpling powder are more durable. In sensitive people, however, they can cause asthma and other intolerance reactions. The latter also applies to gallates and butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), popular antioxidants in dry products. Also stabilizers such as polyphosphates, flavor enhancers, coloring carotenoids and nature-identical flavors do not occur in eco-potato products. However, ascorbic acid and citric acid are allowed as antioxidants. They prevent discoloration of the processed potatoes.
By the way: Without any additives, most ready-made potato products such as chips, chips and puree can also be made in your own kitchen. Many recipes can be found here (pm)
