Every second person suffers from sleep problems
In Germany, every second has sleep problems with different characteristics: every second German suffers from sleep problems found a representative survey of 1950 people in Germany out.
On behalf of the magazine „pharmacy magazine“ The Nuremberg market research institute GfK carried out the survey in Germany with the sensational result. Of the 1950 respondents, 1081 indicated that they had sleep problems - 55.4 percent.
For most of them, falling asleep only works poorly. Over a third of those affected can not sleep through and wake up more often at night and early in the morning.
This naturally leads to performance and concentration problems during the day, because our organism needs the nocturnal rest phase for regeneration. For example, about one in five respondents said they were out of focus and tired during the day. One in four already feels like getting up „how smashed“.
In our organism there is a nervous system that consists of two parts that have opposite functions. One part is more active during the day and in case of stress (sympathetic). While the other part (parasympathetic) directs more inward processes (e.g., digestion) and nocturnal regeneration. Both parts are normally in our body in a dynamic equilibrium.
It is generally assumed that, especially in western industrialized countries, an imbalance, at the expense of the parasympathetic system, through prolonged periods of stress and overstimulation leads to an overshoot of the sympathetic system, which may lead to sleep disorders.
