Hay fever: First hazel pests plague allergy sufferers
01/10/2015
For the third time in a row, a mild winter ensures that the first hazel pollen fly again very early. The period of suffering for pollen allergy sufferers will therefore be longer this year than in the past. In pollen allergy and hay fever, there are different treatment approaches.
Pollen fly very early because of mild winter
For many pollen allergy sufferers the suffering has begun again - and for the third year in a row exceptionally early. According to the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach fly because of the mild temperatures of up to 15 degrees already the first hazelnuts. „The season starts very early this time, but this was almost to be expected due to the mild weather of recent weeks“, said a DWD spokesman, according to a message from the news agency dpa. Therefore, the weather service switched its pollen forecast online. According to the DWD, about 15 percent of Germans show more or less severe reactions to pollen pollution.
Different treatment options
As a result, unpleasant symptoms of hay fever such as itching and snorting and sometimes coughing occur. The annoying symptoms can also spread to the bronchi and lead to the development of allergic asthma. Patients should therefore use existing treatment options. Many allergic people trust the so-called hyposensitization, in which the allergic reaction is to be completely overcome by the regular contact with the allergens. In naturopathy methods such as acupuncture, homeopathic remedies, Schüssler salts, the autologous blood therapy, Bach flower therapy and hypnosis for the removal of hay fever or to relieve the symptoms are used.
