Two fish meals per week
Because this contains important nutrients that can even protect against an allergy. A recent study found that pregnant women should eat fatty fish to protect their children from asthma. Because it contains plenty of omega-3 fatty acids, which play an important role in the development of the child's brain, the eyes and the central nervous system. There are also vitamin D, selenium, iodine and easily digestible protein.

The German Nutrition Society recommends two fish meals per week, preferably once with high-fat sea fish such as herring, mackerel or salmon.

But beware: Pregnant women should not eat raw fish and seafood such as Eat sushi and uncooked oysters to prevent dangerous infectious diseases such as listeriosis or e.g. to avoid a fish tapeworm infestation.
