Health experts warn against dangerous fashion drug Lava red.

This new legal drug apparently has the now forbidden blend „Spice“ replaced. Smoking Lava Red can cause seizures and dangerous cardiac arrhythmias, as the Poison Information Center currently warns.

A new legal drug is causing a dangerous euphoria among adolescents and young adults in Germany. The legally commercially available herbal mixture „Lava red“ is suspected of causing severe consequences. It was not until the weekend that young people between the ages of 14 and 21 had to be treated in a clinic. As the head of the poison emergency center Erfurt, Helmut Hentschel, reports, the young people had to be treated for reasons such as clouding of consciousness, palpitations, sweating, nausea and blurred vision. An 18-year-old patient also had a seizure. As the message of the poison emergency center states, life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias are not excluded.

Since July of this year, the poison control center has become aware of nine emergencies with serious health problems. Because of these events, the Poison Information Center warns about inhaling the mixture „Lava red“. Many, especially young people, do not seem to be aware of the danger to their health. Many of the consumers share relevant internet forums and report their intoxication. However, there are no signs of possible side effects.

According to the manufacturer, the herbal mixture „Lava red“ Not intended for inhalation, but as a smoking mixture to produce a pleasant scent in rooms. This is specifically indicated on the packaging that the mixture is not intended for smoking. Nevertheless, many adolescents abuse the product to put themselves into intoxication. (Sb)
