Just in time for the warmer days, many people complain about the spring fatigue. The most common reason is probably an imbalance in our hormonal balance and biorhythm, but in which naturopathic methods usually work well. Our organism needs a transitional phase, in which it sets itself from the darker and shorter winter days to more brightness and longer days. The hormone melatonin, which is produced in the brain in the so-called pineal gland (epiphysis) and is responsible for our day-night rhythm, has to switch to a slightly reduced distribution. Furthermore, the hormone serotonin, which also influences our sleep rhythm and mood, is released more by the brightness. It usually takes a few weeks for these functions to settle. So it is paradoxical that despite the increased sun and heat, many people suffer from drowsiness, tiredness and mood swings.
The measures, however, come from naturopathy and are quite simple and logical. Concerned individuals should move around in the open air and consume a lot of fresh foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to stimulate the organism and to adjust to the new environmental conditions. This may include a change shower in the morning for circulation activation and rubbing with a brush. Also, drinking a lot of liquid, if possible water, helps to stimulate and dissipate.
