Focus Health TV is turned off

Focus Health TV is expected to be shut down by the end of August.

(09.08.2010) The TV channel "Focus Gesundheit TV", which was only launched in mid-2005, is expected to be shut down again at the end of August this year. This comes from media industry circles. The program of the station turns around health topics, wellness and advice. The shipments consisted of own production but also from third-party suppliers. Focus Health started in 2005.

The industry service "Meedia" reported on Friday that the economic conditions were missing for a continuation of the branch station "Focus Health". Only on January 7, the company "Burda" announced the broadcast of the channel "Sky World". In the further time also further distribution channels were used. So the transmitter was also sent via cable kiosk, Unitymedia and Wilhelm Tel.

According to industry circles, the shutdown at „Unitymedia“ already at the end of August, at Kabelkiosk in mid-September. It is unclear whether the contributions of Focus Health will continue to be available online after the end of the station.

Possible reasons for the shutdown: At the beginning of the year, the provider "Sky" and Focus Health could not agree on a contract. Since 2005, the station has been broadcast on the pay-TV channel "Premiere". At the beginning of the year it was apparently not possible to agree on another broadcast. (Sb)
