About 16 applications are enrolled in a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Kassel. With 1300 applications in 80 places, the subject of winter semester 2015/2016 is one of the most popular study programs - it was only set up five years ago. The Institute of Psychology celebrates the small anniversary on 19 October with a ceremony.

For the winter semester 2010/11, the bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Kassel was offered for the first time. One of the features: theory and practice are closely linked here. After six semesters, students can earn their first professional qualification with the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). Classical areas of work for psychologists are, for example, work, organizational and economic psychology as well as clinical psychology. Bachelor graduates of the subject work in HR departments or in market research. The University of Kassel offers "Psychology", "Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy" and "Economics, Psychology and Management" as further master courses.

"The great demand for the Bachelor's degree as well as the good job prospects of our graduates shows us that the establishment of the study program is a success story", says the Managing Director of the Institute of Psychology, Prof. Dr. med. Marc-André Reinhard. The importance of Kassel psychology is also shown in the fact that the institute has won renowned professors. The Institute of Psychology is currently equipped with fourteen subject areas. In addition, the Institute of Psychology is affiliated with the Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic, headed by Professor Cord Benecke (Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy).

The Department of Human Sciences and the Institute of Psychology are celebrating the anniversary on 19 October with a ceremony. It speaks among other things Prof. dr.
