Fast food and sodas make you old
Study: Too much fast food and sodas can accelerate the aging process in humans
(28.04.2010) Researchers from the "Harvard School of Dental Medicine" have found from a study that a high consumption of fast foods and lemonades accelerates the aging process. One of the main reasons is the high phosphate content in the food offered. In fast foods, phosphates are mostly used as acidulants, acidity regulators, emulsifiers, molten salt and as preservatives. In German foods phosphoric acid (E 338) and sodium phosphate (E 339) are often added to the food.
If you take too much phosphate as a healthy person, the substance is excreted through the kidneys again. But if the body is constantly confronted with an excess of phosphate, the aging process can be accelerated. In addition, there is a risk of having kidney disease. The scientists therefore warn against excessive consumption of fast food products. Rather, one should pay attention to a balanced diet. In another study it was reported that high consumption of fast foods can lead to obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. In some countries, a fat tax is already being considered in order to limit the consumption of fast food. (Sm)
