Almost 39,000 people will be without health insurance from the first of July 2011. The reason for this is the closure of City BKK at the beginning of the following month. The health insurance must close on the instructions of the Federal Insurance Office, because the financial situation would not have justified a continuation. For the insured, this announcement means looking for a new fund. Apparently, almost 49,000 of the formerly 168,000 City BKK members are without insurance.

Transitional solution should ensure insurance coverage
In the coming weeks, however, a so-called „Transitional arrangements“ apply, which ensures insurance coverage, stressed the Federal Association of Health Insurance. At the same time, the central association of health insurances called on insured persons to seek a new health insurance as quickly as possible. By the end of September, a regulation was in place to insure the insured despite the end of the health insurance, said Doris Pfeiffer, chairman of the Association of statutory health insurance. Until then, all physicians, clinics and pharmacists are guaranteed that the health services provided are paid. Anyone who goes to the doctor as an affected person should also present his health insurance card after the closure of City BKK. With the cards insured persons could prove that they continue to be entitled to the benefits catalog of the statutory health insurance.

Suffrage only a short time
If you have not been looking for a cash box yet, you have until 14th July to take care of yourself. Who also lets this time pass, no longer has the right to vote. Then employers or pension insurers have to become active and find a new fund. „Everyone should use their right to vote, "Pfeiffer said, adding that as a legally insured person, one could choose a health insurance fund that does not charge an additional contribution or offer naturopathic services.
