Nutrition expert Excessive Confusion about eating right
Gluten- or lactose-free, vegan, less fat or less carbohydrates: For many people is no longer transparent, which nutritional recommendations to follow, in order to live as healthy as possible. This has negative consequences for some, as one expert has observed.
Dietary requirements favor unhealthy eating habits
Low carb or low fat, eat with the Paleo diet as in the Stone Age, or vegetarian diet makes lean: Such diet recommendations and nutritional requirements, according to an expert, pressure consumers and even favor unhealthy eating habits. As the Hamburg nutritionist Maike Ehrlichmann said in an interview with the news agency dpa, scientists are increasingly recognizing that a healthy diet does not even exist.
Listen to the internal signals
When asked what a healthy diet is, the ecotrophologist said that "it means that our bodies have a functioning system that determines when we need which food." It works intuitively in children and in nature. Even after a long illness you know exactly what you are hungry for. In the rarest cases that is a curry sausage. According to the expert, many only have to learn again to listen to the inner signals in order not to resort to such foods in everyday life. According to Ehrlichmann, the system is disturbed by stress, advertising and additives such as sweeteners, flavors and glutamate. And also by eating rules like "no bread for dinner". Instead, you later approve of three magnums on the sofa.
"Excessive confusion about which diet is good"
Ehrlichmann, who also works as a coach in Kiel and Hamburg, told the dpa: "There is a boundless confusion about which diet is good - why was it said ten years ago low in fat, why now low-carb?" People agree after being overcrowded with suggestions and ultimately doing nothing. Many people would think they were undisciplined because of overbearing ideas and be frustrated. According to the scientist, only the disturbing factors would have to be eliminated.
Expert does not give clients any quantities
As Ehrlichmann confirmed on a question, she does not give her clients any quantities. Used would be much more individual ways. She said, even professors meanwhile say: forget the calories. The ecotrophologist explained that she has observed that those who decide for themselves about their food, eat totally differently and learn to listen to themselves. In her opinion, it is important not always to talk about health, because that immediately trigger pressure and often rejection. Appearance is a much greater motivation for many people.
Beauty defined at the cellular level
When asked if her book is titled "Eating Fair Is Beautiful," Ehrlichmann said, "Yes, and we've redefined beauty on a cellular level." According to the author, only well-cared for healthy cells are beautiful and radiate that, too. As she explained, most of her prescriptions are also heart-protecting and cancer-preventive, but they say "beautiful" because that's the rule so far: eat as little as possible. "We, on the other hand, find it okay to eat potatoes. We recommend starting with ten normal foods that you can cook with without much thought. Instead of dealing with chia seeds or other abstruse foods, "says Ehrlichmann. That makes for a tremendous relief. (Ad)
