Authority gives all-clear
Last Friday, in a holiday camp in Prieros near Königs Wusterhausen (Brandenburg), 33 children and six caregivers fell ill with diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Affected and their relatives can now breathe again. As reported by the District Office Dahme-Spreewald on Monday to the "Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb), the samples taken by the patients were negative. Neither Salmonella nor Noro viruses were found. Possible causes of the mass illness could possibly be germs in the food or poor hygiene in question. On Tuesday, the results of the food controls will be available.
In many foods lurk dangerous germs
Only recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) has pointed out that in many foods lurk germs that can cause dangerous infections. Although the pathogens play a role, especially in developing countries, hundreds of thousands of people also get sick every year in Europe. For example, it was reported in March that there are still too many germs present in poultry meat in this country. Some of them may cause symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle aches, joint pain, diarrhea or abdominal pain after consumption. (Ad)
