Energiekick ripe bananas especially suitable for a quick energy boost
Bananas are among the most popular types of fruit of the Germans. Both in the office, in college or at school, as well as in sports, the delicious fruit is often used. Ripe bananas are particularly suitable for a quick energy boost.
Bananas are popular with the Germans
Most Germans love bananas. The tasty fruits are above all rich in potassium and magnesium as well as vitamin B6. It also contains other minerals, vitamins and trace elements. Since bananas contain a lot of fructose, they are especially popular with athletes as fast energy suppliers. Ripe fruits are particularly suitable for the snack in between.
Dark yellow fruits especially good for the energy kick
Basically, dark yellow bananas are particularly well suited for a short energy boost at work, in college or in sports because of their high sugar content. The motto is: The riper, the better. "Ripe bananas contain more pure sugar," said Antje Gahl of the German Nutrition Society (DGE) in a message from the news agency dpa. This pure sugar is therefore faster in the blood and quickly delivers energy.
Softer pulp
The pulp of ripe bananas is softer, the shell rather dark yellow. As the expert further explained, less-mature bananas are more starchy. According to Gahl strength is reduced only with increasing maturity. In addition, they contain more complex carbohydrates and less pure sugars. Less ripe fruits tend to deliver slower energy than ripe bananas, but over a longer period of time.
Well digestible fruit
Bananas are generally easy to digest, especially ripe fruits. The fruit is therefore recommended not only as a baby food, but also in intestinal complaints. Curiously, bananas are used both in diarrhea, and as a home remedy for constipation. In the latter case, however, more mature fruits must be used, as unripe bananas contain much digestible starch.
