Recommended toadstool is under conservation
Health insurance: Recommended toadstool is also protected
After the health insurance United IKK in its member magazine „Active and healthy“ recommended a toadstool as edible, the criticism in the media was great. The IKK immediately published a correction and apologized that an external agency was responsible for the content of the magazine. The contact person from the mushroom emergency hotline, Dieter J. Honstraß, who was mentioned in the newsletter as a mushroom expert, has now declared that the fungus is not only poisonous, but also protected.
Collectors violate the Bundesartschutzverordnung
So collecting the edible described as edible is doubly annoying. On the one hand, when eating nausea and sweating, muscle weakness with muscle pain, so threatened that the company spokeswoman of the United IKK, Sylvia Strothotte, from "potentially life-threatening" poisoning. On the other hand, the gathering of the forest mushroom is prohibited because it is protected under the Federal species protection ordinance. So collectors not only spoil their stomach, they also violate the law, as mushroom expert Honstraß points out.
Until 2001, the green product was considered edible mushroom
The member magazine „active & healthy“ is from the agency „surma“ created for the 1 July 2010 from the Signal Iduna IKK and the IKK North Rhine United IKK. Here is the error that is in the article „Autumn asks for a table“ to the designation of the green body as edible mushroom led, quite understandable. Because until recently, the forest mushroom was still considered edible.
Only since 2001, the green compact in Germany is no longer considered edible mushroom, as it can cause a described as Tricholoma equestre syndrome muscle weakness (rhabdomyolysis), which sometimes even fatal ends. In any older mushroom books, the greenling is still listed as edible. According to Dieter J. Honstraß, however, the consumption is only fatal to the Rheinische Post, "if you eat kilos of green bread every day for two weeks."
So far, no serious poisoning by the green
So far, only sporadic calls have been recorded at the poison emergency call center and the mushroom emergency call, in which the people still had no acute symptoms and the hotlines rather used for information purposes. So far, the Poison Control Center has sent a person to the family doctor after having consumed two grains to clarify the consequences of the use of mushrooms on the affected person's organs. The prompt reaction of the health insurance has certainly contributed to the fact that hardly any fungal poisoning by the green area can be recorded. „All insured persons from whom an e-mail address existed were warned in advance by e-mail (...) and in the upcoming issue of active + healthy will be published a detailed correction on the subject, "said Martina Cwojdzinski on behalf of the United IKK. „In our last issue, we reported on wild mushrooms and described the green leaf (agaric) as edible. Our external agency has made a mistake that can endanger life and limb, "said the unequivocal statement of the IKK.
Inexperienced mushroom pickers should use mushroom advice centers
Especially inexperienced mushroom pickers resort again and again to some dangerous toadstools. For this reason, experts like Dieter J. Honstraß advise you to visit a mushroom advice center before eating mushrooms you have collected yourself. Because the consumption of the green is z. B. in comparison to the tuber mushroom rather harmless and in total there are a variety of mushrooms whose consumption can cause serious health problems. Those who are not one hundred percent sure of the mushrooms collected, should therefore urge to refrain from eating. (fp, 29.09.2010)
