Drones are supposed to transport blood for latches
Blood Express courier with charm

Frankfurt. According to the will of the Frankfurt hospitals, drones should in future handle the transport of blood products in order to save time in emergencies. The two aircraft can operate irrespective of the weather and almost independently over problematic traffic situations, thus supplying three hospitals in the group with blood products. There are 50-70 emergencies every year, in which transports between the clinics are necessary.
"The charm is that we send life-saving substances, not books," said Dennis Göbel, managing director of Agaplesion Frankfurter Diakonie-Kliniken, on Monday in Frankfurt „dpa“.
Dispute over approval
Although the book wholesaler Amazon and the Post are currently testing drones and Juist already has a drug delivery drone in operation, it is still questionable whether these drones will go into service as the authorities are critical of plant approval. "That is not approvable," said a spokeswoman for the competent regional council Darmstadt of „Frankfurter Rundschau“ (FR, Tuesday).
Dennis Göbel, however, sees no problems in operation due to the redundancy of the aircraft, the independent control of the battery status and the 50% drop below the loading capacity of the aircraft. "It continues to fly, even if one or more of the eight engines fail," said Göbel „hr-online“. If the GPS fails, the drone will automatically fly back to the starting point. (Jp)
