Impending lead poisoning recall campaign for lipstick and lipliner started
Lead has a fatal effect in the human organism. Life-threatening poisoning can occur when taking high doses and even small amounts are dangerous for humans because the heavy metal accumulates in the human body over time and can lead to chronic poisoning. Lead is therefore also subject to strict limits for cosmetic products. However, the lip care set "Max & More Lipstick & Lipliner Set" did not meet these requirements, which is why a comprehensive product recall was launched.
The non-food discounter "Action" has launched a callback for the lip care set "Max & More Lipstick & Lipliner Set". The product "does not comply with the EC Cosmetics Directive because of an increased lead content", the company said. The inclusion of lead threatens serious health problems. For this reason, customers (and customers) are advised never to use the product.
Increased lead content in lipsticks
Only recently has it been reported that many lip balms are contaminated with carcinogenic petroleum. Apparently found in some lipsticks health-endangering substances. The Action Germany GmbH, a non-food discounter, warns on its website before the cosmetics set "Max & More Lipstick & Lipliner Set" by D-Dutch. Unfortunately, the product sold in the Action stores "does not comply with EC Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 because of the increased lead content", the company writes.

Harmful heavy metal
"Lead is a heavy metal with various harmful health effects. The chronic toxic effects of lead have been extensively studied in recent years and decades, "writes the Lower Saxony State Health Office (NLGA) on its website.
Even if you take small amounts that are taken over a longer period of time, lead deposits in the body - in bones and teeth.
Lead poisoning, among other things, is accompanied by intestinal colic, headache, fatigue and loss of appetite. It can also result in impaired fertility. In addition, lead can lead to serious damage to the nervous system, blood formation and kidneys.
And a number of studies report "an association with decreased mental development in children and increased lead uptake. The best known here is the negative influence on the intelligence quotient of children, "says the NLGA. In the worst case, poisoning even ends fatally. (Ad)
