DGB additional contributions should be stopped
DGB: Additional contributions of the statutory health insurance companies must be stopped.
The German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) calls on the occasion of the Bundesrat referral to the plans for the introduction of a capitation on the federal states, to vote against in the Bundesrat. Because the income-independent additional contributions of the statutory health insurance as well as the freezing of employer contributions lead to a one-sided burden for the health insurance.
Annelie Buntenbach, board member of the union said: „The state governments have the responsibility to spare the citizens of their federal state the unilateral burden of burdens caused by the plans of Federal Minister of Health Rösler. It must also be in the own interest of the Länder and their municipalities to involve the employers in equality in the financing of SHI financing, in order to avoid a future strong increase in the need for compensation from tax revenues and thus to secure their own ability to act.“
According to the plans of the Federal Minister of Health Philipp Rösler (FDP), should be frozen after the increase in health insurance contributions, the employer's share. This means that all further increases in contributions to the detriment of the employees are carried out unilaterally. In addition, the statutory health insurance from 2011, the amount of additional contributions set themselves. Social organizations and trade unions have long criticized that the planned reforms in the health sector are a "per capita lump sum". „We therefore call on the federal states to stop the freezing of employer contributions and the introduction of additional income-related contributions in statutory health insurance“, so Buntenbach. Since even the CSU criticized the plans of the Minister of Health, Buntenbach takes this occasion to urge the party to speak. „In particular, the CSU is in the word that the capitation is not introduced“, the union leader argued. Countries should be aware that they are responsible to their constituents, „if they do not put a clear veto against the Rösler reform.“ added Buntenbach. (sb, 17.10.2010)
