On the coming Easter days 2010 it could come to a strong Pollenflug, warns the donation German pollen information service. In about a week, the birch pollen will start to fly. Many people with symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itching and tearing and possibly respiratory distress react to these pollen if they are prone to asthmatic problems.
This year is a so-called birch pollen „mast year“. This means that especially many pollen will fly, because the birches only have a lot of pollen every two years. In addition, the hazel begins to bloom due to the rather long cold spell, now only very late. This could be a double burden for many allergic and hay fever sufferers. Asthmatics should watch the situation well, as overreaction due to pollen may lead to life-threatening respiratory distress.
Naturopathy recommends that allergic persons begin to take countermeasures in the winter as well as to conduct cause research. For a long time, a connection between intestinal problems, such as the Leaky Gut syndrome, and allergies has been suspected. (Thorsten Fischer, Naturopath Osteopathy, 26.03.2010)
