Luiz does not want to eat any more animals: an internet video inspires the vegetarian community

Many parents are wondering why my child is saying „Iiii Brussels sprouts“ or „I do not want to eat cauliflower“. The answer is very simple: it is mostly due to the socialized diet of the parents. If parents themselves are more likely to use chips and schnitzel, the child will not start to eat vegetables just to demand parents. Especially if it is not appetizing but only bland prepared. Everything the big ones do is modeled and learned by the little ones.

But apparently there are also children who do not want to eat at all, what their parents do. They even seem to be ahead of time because they reject the consumption of dead animals from a basic (fellow) feeling. Luiz Antonio from Portugal is one of them.

In an Internet video, which currently experiences a real hype in the communities, he denied the reason for the consumption of animals. Luiz is sitting at his mother's kitchen table. In front of him a plate of rice, potatoes, gnocchi and squid rings. He looks at all the plates and seems to wonder what his food has to do with squid that actually swim in the sea. "This is not a real octopus, is it?" He asks his mother. Because he is surprised that the cuttlefish have no head. He then explains to his mother that his head is no longer floating in the sea but is lying on the fish market. Now he realizes that the animal was cut up for the preparation of the food and calls in Portuguese „Why just why?“

Luiz looks questioningly at his mother with wide eyes. He reminds: „They are animals!“. He now thinks and realizes that here an alienation of the food happens. Because the animals must be killed, so that they can then be eaten. The little boy does not want to understand why people kill animals. "I do not want them to die, you have to take care of them and not eat them!“ His mother is overwhelmed by the testimony of her son. He has so much compassion for the animals. In tears she says, then eat only the potatoes and the rice.

Not only his mother convinced Luiz. In countless comments at „Youtube“ and „Facebook“ the boy will receive a great deal of approval. So a commentator wrote: „He is right, I do not want to eat any more animals. I feel bad about the idea that they are suffering so that I am full.“

Meanwhile, the video was clicked over 3 million times worldwide and commented on Youtube over ten thousand times. At least in the social networks, the video ignites a new discussion about the meaning and nonsense of meat consumption. (Sb)
