Colorectal cancer More exercise improves the treatment prognosis / Health News
Patients with colorectal cancer who are regularly physically active have a better prognosis than those who are inactive. So far, however, was not sure what influence the physical activity before the diagnosis on the survival time has. It also significantly increases survival, as scientists have shown.

150 minutes of moderate activity or 74 minutes of intensive exercises per week recommend the guidelines for colorectal cancer. On the basis of the international Colon Cancer Family Registry and a telephone survey, the scientists evaluated the findings and results of the survey of 2700 intestinal cancer patients.

The overall survival value was significantly higher by 30 percent the greater the physical activity in the years prior to the cancer diagnosis. Decreased data suggest that patients with colon cancer in particular benefit from the movement, not patients with rectal cancer. The study can be found here. (Pm)
