DAK subsidizes osteopathy for children
The health insurance DAK subsidizes osteopathic treatments for children
20/04/2011
Cryptic attacks, digestive problems, bad posture - many babies show symptoms after birth that can not be clearly assigned by conventional medicine. Desperate parents often turn to an osteopath. The DAK recently subsidized its alternative cure - nationwide.
Cause of the suffering are usually tensions and other disorders. „Using a holistic approach, osteopaths use different grip techniques to try to release blockages and activate the body's self-healing powers“, says Dieter Carius, DAK expert for alternative remedies. In search of the tensions the whole body becomes from top to bottom and from outside to inside with hands „rayed“.
Release blockages as early as possible
„In babies, the problems are resolved faster than in adults“, says Carius. „The tensions have not yet solidified.“ It is therefore all the more important to discover early on the cause of the malaise of the child. After all, if the disorders do not heal on their own, they often last for years without treatment and influence the mental and motor development of the child.
Reimbursement for initial check
DAK reimburses the costs of the osteopathic first check for all DAK family-insured infants in the first year of life. Should further treatments be necessary, the health insurance company participates with a discount, which the osteopath settles directly with the customer. Prerequisite: The doctor must be a member of the German Society for Osteopathic Medicine (DGOM). Carius: „It guarantees high quality treatment standards. Its members are doctors who have to prove that they have 700 hours of osteopathic training and regular training.“ (Pm)
