Chinese medicine is very much in vogue. In pharmacies, supermarkets or in the gym - everywhere there is healthy from the Far East. Green tea, ginger, ginseng and qigong courses are even part of our culture today. More and more people use the 5,000-year-old Chinese experience when they are ill. At least with acupuncture, most have already made their experiences. In the new book „Chinese medicine for the western world“ from dr. Christian Schmincke brings the Chief Physician of the Clinic at the Steigerwald closer to the views of Chinese medicine. So the reader quickly realizes that the most important TCM method, the treatment with individually composed formulations of Chinese medicines, leads in this country still a shadowy existence.
In the book, Dr. Schmincke also focuses on the application of Far Eastern medicine in the Western world. Because Europeans react differently to the measures of Chinese medicine. The guidebook also provides insights into the important pillars of Yin and Yang, on whose dynamic balance all Chinese medicine is based. The meanwhile 5th edition is aimed at naturopathic preformed readers but also at those without prior knowledge who want to find their own way to personal health. „Chinese medicine, with its wealth of treatments, has what it takes to broaden our thinking horizons“, explains the author.
On the basis of his many years of TCM practice, he introduces the subject comprehensibly, informs about typical western diseases and explains how they can be managed. He also gives helpful explanations on healthy nutrition, dealing with illnesses and finding the right TCM therapist. For example, the reader learns why eczema patients should prefer to dispense with dairy products, which is why infections from the point of view of Chinese medicine fulfill important functions and how ADHD can be treated without medication. In addition, the guide includes practical exercises to resolve blockages. A glossary helps with orientation. (Pm)
