The non-profit association for the cure of breast cancer Komen Germany now delivers 20,000 "Pink Infotaschen" throughout Germany. The bags are sent by DHL Paket to around 170 certified breast centers in the 16 federal states. This means that more than one in four women suffering from breast cancer this year will receive important and up-to-date information from specialist societies, current patient advice, reading samples, flyers from self-help groups and a brochure from Komen Germany.

"From the outside a bag like many, but the inside is like a care package with basic and important information for women who are newly ill with breast cancer," said Andrea Hahne in Hameln, who was one of the first the new "Pink info bag "of the non-profit association for the cure of breast cancer Komen Germany held in the hand. "I got to know these bags as a patient, and I pass them on to our patients with conviction." Andrea Hahne, who has developed a psychosocial counseling service at the Sana Klinikum Hameln-Pyrmont and co-founded the BRCA network for families with hereditary breast cancer, received one of about 2,000 bags in the breast center of the Sana Hospital Hameln-Pyrmont on 3 September Lower Saxony, for which the Foundation of the Lower Saxony Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks has taken over the costs.

"The information of our 20,000 'Pink-Infotaschen' should also convey courage and confidence," said Inge Althaus of Komen Germany at the handover and thanked DHL Paket, the Foundation of the Lower Saxony Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken and Berliner Sparkasse for support. "With 72,000 new cases a year, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women," said KOMEN Germany's CEO Prof. Dr. med. Ute-Susann Albert in Frankfurt on the need for this commitment. "We see it as an important task to provide patients with qualified information so that they can actively support their recovery process, because it is important to remain active in the treatment process." Komen's "Pink Information Bag" helps on the way to more patient competence. " The project "Pink Info Bag" was named one of 365 initiatives in 2009 by the federal government „Land of ideas“ excellent.
