The statutory health insurance BKK Dr. In the coming year 2011, Oetker does not want to raise additional contributions from its insured persons. The company health insurance explained this in a recent press release.

A total of 16 health insurance companies currently levy so-called additional contributions from their members in addition to the regular insured contributions. The majority of the funds that made such an additional contribution had to accept significant losses to members. Therefore, additional contributions are very unpopular with the health insurance itself, at least as long as they are not collected nationwide.

The company health insurance BKK Dr. Oetker announced that they did not want to make an additional contribution in the coming year. That's what the Board of Directors decided to do last week. The reason for this decision lies in the economically stable position of the cash register. You are debt-free and benefit from a balanced and reasonable fiscal policy. In addition, health care costs for the insured would be well below the national average. Only 101 euros had to be spent on the company fund on average per insured person. The average measured in all GKVen is currently around 126 euros. Thus the cash register would continue to belong to an economically sound health insurance. Cuts in services and service are also not planned.

"After the introduction of the health fund and a nationwide unit contribution, the BKK Dr. Oetker remains on a consistent course. Our service and performance standard remains high - and without an additional financial burden on our insured," said the chairman of the company health insurance, Klemens Kläsener.

The BKK Dr. Oetker is one of the smaller health insurance companies in Germany. The health insurance fund currently covers about 150,000 people. By not introducing an additional contribution, the BKK could continue to gain members. Because if a health insurance company levies an additional contribution, insured persons can make use of their special right of termination and change health insurance. In the course of the health care reform, health insurances can determine the amount of the additional contribution themselves from the turn of the year. Health economists assume that demographic change and an increase in expenditure mean that a majority of statutory health insurance companies have to make additional contributions. (Sb)
