Sport burns more calories than sex

According to a recent study by Canadian researchers, more calories are burned in sports than in sex. Men each have a higher energy consumption.

Loving act in your own four walls
According to a recent study, significantly fewer calories are burned during sex than during physical activity. This has resulted in a study of the University of Quebec in Montreal, Canada. The subjects had to run under supervision for half an hour at a moderate pace. And as study author Antony Karelis explained, the participants were allowed to perform the act of love in their own four walls, because „the couples feel better there.“ In both cases, the participants were equipped with a fitness meter.

Men consume more than women
Afterwards it was compared, at which effort the energy consumption was higher. The men burned an average of 276 calories during the 30-minute run, or 9.2 calories per minute. However, the consumption of women was only 213 calories. In the case of the 25-minute sex, however, the values were significantly lower. The men burned an average of 101 calories, 4.2 calories per minute. Much lower was the energy consumption of the women, they consumed just 69 calories in the act of love.

No explanation for the differences
The researchers still have no explanation for the generally lower energy consumption of women. Karelis suspected that this might simply be related to the higher weight of men. For the study, he and his colleagues had a total of 21 heterosexual couples between 18 and 35 years under the microscope. (Ad)
