Aldi recalls organic spice blends for Salmonella germs
The Merschbrock meadow spice GmbH has started a recall for several organic spice mixtures. Salmonella was found in some products due to an ingredient (fennel). These bacteria can cause diarrhea and other medical conditions.

"Still existing packs of the above items, with the appropriate best before date can of course be returned for reimbursement of the purchase price at the place of purchase," writes the spice manufacturer.
Bacteria cause gastrointestinal infections
Salmonella can cause unpleasant gastrointestinal infections (salmonellosis).
The disease usually occurs a few hours to days after infection and manifests itself mainly by sudden onset of diarrhea, abdominal pain, malaise, weakness and headache.
In some cases, vomiting and mild fever are also present, as well as pain during bowel movements and mucus or blood in the stool.
The symptoms usually disappear by themselves within a few hours or days. For infants, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, fluid loss due to diarrhea and vomiting can be dangerous.
Those who have consumed such spices and develop severe or persistent symptoms should seek medical attention and point out a possible salmonella infection. (Ad)
