Treatment of conjunctivitis
Treatment of conjunctivitis: Therapy of conjunctivitis.
(19.04.2010) Since insufficiently treated conjunctivitis (conjunctivitis) can endanger the eyesight, a doctor's visit should be made first. The ophthalmologist examines the affected regions and uses a smear to determine the cause. Conventional bacterial inflammation is treated with antibiotics, vasodilator or antiallergic eye drops. In addition, ointments and painkillers are prescribed. In the dry eye regularly moisturizing liquid should be instilled.

Naturopathic therapists in Western culture prescribe internally and locally applicable preparations, e.g. from medicinal plants that are causative (antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral) but also relieve the symptoms (anti-inflammatory, cooling). In addition, naturopathy focuses on the activation of the general self-healing powers, in particular through impulses for the regulation of the immune activity.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) sees eye diseases closely related to liver function, which is given special consideration in the treatment. Finally, in auyurveda, eye inflammations are - in simplified terms - associated with too much "heat" that needs to be cooled and brought back into the individual balance through special treatment with other energetic qualities in the body.
