Recall due to pathogens: Frozen food contaminated with Listeria
The manufacturer Frenzel Tiefkühlwerke GmbH has initiated a recall for the product "Frenzel Leipziger Allerlei, 450 g". It can not be ruled out that the frozen vegetables are contaminated with listeria. Among other things, these bacteria can cause nausea and vomiting.
Dangerous bacteria in food
Recently, the reports of pathogens in frozen food pile up. In recent years, several deaths have been recorded in parts of Europe by dangerous bacteria in frozen food. And just a few days ago it became known that listeria was discovered in frozen vegetables at Lidl. Now another producer has started a recall of frozen food.

As the retail chains Kaufland and Globus report, the manufacturer Frenzel Tiefkühlwerke GmbH recalls the product "Frenzel Leipziger Allerlei, 450 g".
According to the information, the recall only affects the batch: M8 108 F3, MHD 04/2020.
"It can not be ruled out that the frozen product is contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes," says a company statement.
Consumption is strongly discouraged
Listeria can cause a so-called "listeriosis" in humans. The condition can cause flu-like symptoms such as vomiting, muscle aches, diarrhea, and fever.
Usually, the disease takes a harmless course in healthy adults, but: "For certain groups of people (pregnant women, smaller children, the elderly and immune-compromised) can very serious disease patterns occur," write the retail chains.
Because of this health risk, customers should therefore pay attention to the recall and not consume the affected products.
The affected product can be returned to all stores. The purchase price will also be refunded without presentation of the receipt. (Ad)
