Again and again fly up doctors who try to supplement their income with billing fraud. So also in the current case, a doctor from Fürth, who is said to have cheated with his help as a pharmacy assistant wife the health insurance by about 200,000 euros.
A spokesman for the police in Nuremberg said that the doctor had illegally obtained with false prescriptions about 200,000 euros from the health insurance companies in his possession. His wife working as a pharmacy assistant had helped the defendant with the health insurance scam, so the other remarks of the authorities. As the doctor has proceeded exactly, the police did not want to announce out of concern for imitators.
Billing fraud harms the health system, health insurances and doctors
After an insurance company had noticed the missing remarks on the prescriptions, which made it clear that the drugs were never given to patients, they had turned on the criminal police. This then determines the physician and his wife as suspects. The couple is said to have cheated the insurance companies with counterfeit prescriptions by around 200,000 euros. Again and again fall on doctors who try to supplement their income with similar tricks in the settlements. In doing so, they not only harm the health insurance companies and the health system as a whole, but also cast a bad light on colleagues. A large part of the doctors expects all services to the best of their knowledge and belief, although due to the complexity quite small errors can occur, which are also objectionable. But a vicious fraud in the context of hundreds of thousands of euros definitely falls into another category. Therefore, the current search success is welcomed not only by the health insurance, but also by most medical professionals. (Fp)
