Women are given less medication overall, but more anti-depressants prescribed than men. However, in men, the volume is rising faster: in 2016, they received an average of 10.5 days of medication for depression, 114% more than in 2007. For women, the prescribed dose increased 'only' 93% of 8.7 over the same period on 16.8 daily units.
