From 1 January 2014, a new standard will apply for first-aid kits in cars and on motorcycles. The first aid kits must contain additional components in the future. These include a 14-piece set of cut plaster strips and a children's bandage.

In addition to the existing content materials, the boxes now also have to include a 14-piece set of cut plaster strips, finger strips and fingertips, a child-sized bandage, and skin cleansing wipes. Other ingredients account for it.

The ADAC points out that the formerly valid first aid kits may still be used until the end of their respective expiration date. Who wants to buy a new first-aid kit, should make sure that this corresponds to the new standard DIN 13164. (Pm)
