Doctor accused of murdering his stepdaughter is in hospital

04/04/2011

The case had caused a tremendous media stir and slight upset in diplomacy between France and Germany. The German doctor, convicted in France of the abuse and murder of his stepdaughter, was abducted to France by the child's biological father when Germany refused to extradite it.

The 75-year-old physician Dieter K., accused of murdering his stepdaughter, was hospitalized for health problems. The ongoing trial of the alleged murderer and rapist of his stepdaughter had to be interrupted. Actually, the procedure should be completed by Friday, but whether Dieter K. continues to be able to negotiate, the upcoming medical examinations must now show. According to judicial sources, however, the trial is expected to continue in the afternoon.

Kidnapped doctor charged with abusing and killing his stepdaughter
The allegation that he sexually abused his stepdaughter and then killed with a syringe, is still in the room and everything points to a condemnation of the accused German doctor. Although the evidence before the current proceedings, a debt of the defendant seemed very likely, the German judiciary had stopped the case against the cardiologist without charge and Germany refused after a first conviction in France to deliver Dieter K. to the neighboring country. The father of Kalinka, André Bamberski, then had the doctor abducted to France to hand him over to the judiciary.

Physical father convinced of guilt of the accused
Bamberski is convinced that the 75-year-old raped Kalinka and killed him with a syringe. According to his lawyers, K. had been seriously injured in the abduction one and a half years ago and has since received medical treatment at a prison hospital in the Greater Paris area. On Sunday, however, the health condition of the defendant had been so bad that he had to be transferred to a hospital in Paris for a hospital stay. The doctor had already looked very bad during the first weeks of the trial and was leaning on a crutch while running. However, Dieter K. is unlikely to escape conviction even by being hospitalized.
