Researchers have shown in the mouse model that the Ashitaba plant (Angelica keiskei) can help to prevent learning and memory impairment. In Alzheimer's therapy, an attempt is made to increase the concentration of messenger substances in the brain in order to improve memory performance. The scientists now wanted to know if the Ashitaba plant has an effect here.
For this purpose, they have given mice with memory disorders an extract from the Ashitaba plant (Angelica keiskei). The mice then had to perform various memory tests. It was also investigated whether the extract has an influence on substances and proteins that are involved in signal transmission in the brain.
The result: The Ashitaba extract significantly reduced memory impairment in both short-term and long-term memory. The study can be found here. Source: Carstens Foundation.
