Eight euros additional contribution per month at the United IKK

The guild health insurance company Vereinigte IKK levies an additional contribution of 96 Euro per year or 8 Euro per month. This decided today the management committee of the health insurance company at a meeting on Friday.

It had already announced during the course of the day that the United IKK will in the future levy an additional contribution of eight euros per month and insured persons. The health insurance company justified this step with its superficial presence in cities and a dense medical supply network. By nature, spending is greater in cities than in sparsely populated regions. Many insured people of the United IKK live in metropolitan areas. The health fund's allocations do not pay attention to the differences between member structures and regional differences. Therefore its allocations are insufficient and do not cover expenditure side.

The representatives in the management committee did not find it easy to decide on the additional contribution. As stated in a first statement, the cash register is primarily active in areas with an above-average number of hospitals and a high density of doctors. Expenditure on health care is higher than payments from the health fund.

After a written announcement by the health insurance itself, insured persons can make use of their special right of termination and switch to another health insurance of their choice. With the lifting of the cap of the additional contributions can determine the amount of the additional contributions themselves since the health reform.
