5 bars of chocolate per day? Klaus Wührer criticizes official dietary recommendations / Health News
How much food is healthy? And what can be recommended to a person? With his newly published book "Prophylaxis and Therapy by Appropriate Diet", Klaus Wührer questions numerous nutritional recommendations. So the "official dietary recommendation based on starch foods (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) is fundamentally wrong". And yet, Wührer claims that the recommendations are even "pro-inflammatory and hazardous to health".

Large amounts of sugar damage your health. Overweight, diabetes, high blood pressure, but also rheumatic diseases and chronic pain have their origin in the faulty diet with sugar. Nevertheless, the German Society for Nutrition (= DGE) recommends the amount of sugar of 5 bars of chocolate daily. This official dietary recommendation based on starch foods (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) is fundamentally wrong, promotes inflammation and is harmful to health!

With his newly published book "Prophylaxis and Therapy by Appropriate Diet", Klaus Wührer challenges this recommendation with unbeatable facts. The biblical dance around the GOLDEN CALF is repeated in modern times in relation to the "healthy, nutritious, slow carbohydrates of cereals, rice and potatoes". Klaus Wührer brings the golden calf whole grain from the pedestal and shows what's really in it: The main ingredient of cereals, rice and potatoes is starch:

- Starch is dextrose! - Whole grain starch appears just as fast in the blood as plain table sugar (Glycemic Index). - This means that after one serving of starch (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) the blood sugar load is as big as 1.5 bars of chocolate. - Starch foods are also not nutrient-rich. Milk chocolate even has more nutrients than the "golden calf" wholegrain bread (federal food code). - Thus, you consume with "healthy, slow, nutrient-rich, long-chain carbohydrates" the amount of sugar from 5 bars of chocolate daily - and this is officially considered healthy. Since the blood sugar load of starch is similar to that of plain sugar, starch causes just as many burdens and damages as does table sugar - starch is sugar !

PS: By the way, the DGE claims to have no scientific "justification for the optimal energy content of the energy-supplying nutrients" (see DGE position: guideline values for the energy input from carbohydrates and fat). (Sb, pm)
