The groin / inguinal region
Various impairments can occur in the groin area, where groin pain is usually the leading symptom. The inguinal hernia or inguinal hernia is the most well-known symptoms here. This affects more men and can cause a visible swelling in the groin area in addition to the pain. Through the hernia portal, viscera from the abdomen can penetrate into the inguinal canal and thereby become trapped, which in the worst case can lead to life-threatening complications and require surgical intervention. Occasionally, however, the hernia is completely unremarkable - without major pain, swelling or other discomfort. In addition, pain in the groin area may be caused by functional impairments of the musculoskeletal system, damage to the nerve tracts or other diseases such as, for example, a testicle inflammation in men. A medical check is therefore generally advised. (Fp)
