Definition and function of the cornea
Actually, cornea is something quite normal. It represents the outermost layer of our skin, called stratum corneum. This skin layer is in very thin form on the whole body. Their task is above all to form a protective shield against external influences. If certain areas, such as the fingertips or the heels on the feet, are mechanically irritated, more of this horny layer is formed to protect against the strain.

Sometimes the dryness causes cracks in the cornea, which can be extremely unpleasant. In this case, it is especially important that you cream your feet every day for care.
Methods for removing the cornea
To remove cornea, various methods are possible. In any case, caution is required. Important: Under no circumstances should shears or sharp blades be used, as this increases the risk of injury and makes the cornea grow more easily and quickly even after removal. However, helpful methods include foot baths, pumice stones, files, corneal rasps, creams and various home remedies.
Removal of the cornea with pumice stone
To remove the cornea gently, the pumice stone is ideally suited. Originally it consists of porous volcanic rock. Nowadays, no natural product is often used anymore, but the pumice is industrially manufactured. This can be applied both dry and when wet. Rubbing the horny layer with the pumice stone is a gentle way to remove the thickened skin. However, this usually needs to be done regularly to achieve success. As the stone rubs off, it is after a certain time to renew. Massive cornea can not always be removed by this gentle method.

Schüssler salts are suitable for both internal and external use. Here is the No. 1 salt, Calcium fluoratum, the drug of choice for removing dry skin and calluses. This is dissolved in hot water, stirred with a plastic or wooden spoon and then added to the footbath.
Callus

The use of special creams against the cornea is a good method that requires patience, but is usually quite effective. Often these creams contain salicylic acid, which helps to remove the cornification. Another ingredient is urea (urea), which makes the thick horny layer a little more flexible and softer. Highly recommended is the combination of pumice stone and cream.
Although ointment no. 1 from the mineral therapy with Schüßler salts is not a special corneal ointment, it can be used quite successfully in this case. Here, however, a regular and longer-term application is necessary because the cream does not work overnight.
Remove home remedies for the cornea
Various home remedies can help to eliminate the annoying calluses and calluses. It is important in any case that the feet (or the affected skin) are often creamed to avoid dryness. A cream pack helps best overnight. For this the feet are creamed in the evening before going to bed thick with deer's ointment, fat cream or marigold ointment and put into cotton socks. This should be done daily over a longer period of time.
Laying lemon slices on the thick cornea may be useful to remove them. Also helpful is the application of 100% aloe vera juice. An ancient method is the laying on of camomile packets. For this, chamomile flowers are packed in a fabric bag, tied up, doused with boiling water and then, if this is no longer too hot, placed on the affected areas.

Warm the oil and add the wild garlic and flowers. Cook the mixture for three minutes, then cool and store the medicinal herb oil in a cool place (in the basement, for example) overnight. The "old" soap bath must not be missing in the list of home remedies for calluses. The feet are softened for fifteen to twenty minutes, then perhaps rubbed with a pumice stone and then creamed thick.
Danger: Removing the cornea is one thing. To rub off too much of it is the other thing. It should be kept in mind that a certain amount of cornea is important for protection. If it is rubbed off completely, it can certainly lead to pain during running and unpleasant injuries.
Prevention of cornea
Cornea disturbs most people only in the summer, when the feet come back to the daylight. Then an attempt is made to remove the unsightly spots as quickly and successfully as possible. The feet, however, must wear all year round, whether winter or summer, the body are pressed into tight shoes and are often treated as "stepchildren". It is therefore better to pay more attention to your own feet every day.

Special attention is also to be paid to the footwear: If the feet too often pressed into too tight shoes, easily forms a thick cornea. Accordingly, attention should always be paid to suitable and well-fitting footwear and under no circumstances vanity a smaller size than needed to be worn.
